In 2016, the Market Bosworth Society launched Bosworth Links, a community-led archaeology project that invited local residents to dig into history—literally. With support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and guidance from archaeologists at University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS), volunteers uncovered fragments of pottery, traces of ancient buildings, and clues to how life was lived centuries ago.
Bosworth Links wasn’t just about archaeology—it was about connection and community. Neighbours became teammates, families became explorers, and together they pieced together the story of Britain’s evolving landscape. From digging and washing finds to recording discoveries, people of all ages and abilities played a part in bringing history back to life.
